Description of Man and his Rooster

The man is a ‘guajro’, a Cuban farmer. He’s holding probably his most valued possession, his rooster.
In the background you can see a typical ‘bohio’, the houses you could see in the fields years ago.
The dominant color in the painting is the green of the grass, the palms, and the shrubbery. The rooster is mainly black, with a whitish head. His eye is a crystal bead that has been attached to the canvas.
The man is wearing a straw hat and a dirty white shirt and he is carrying a machete on his belt.
He is smoking a cigar.
