Description of Bird by the river

Grey/white herons are long-legged birds that primarily feed on fish.  They are non-swimming birds and can be seen by lakes, rivers, swamps, ponds and the sea. Herons hunt on their prey by sitting still on the edge of the water before using their long beaks to catch food from the water or the ground.

The bird is resting on a fallen tree trunk.  The tree trunk has been applied to the canvas as well as some rocks and vegetation.
